Ben Wa balls had always been something that intrigued me but I was never sure if they were something that could actually benefit me. I am in my early twenties and never given birth so, for want of a better phrase, I’m ‘pretty tight’. After doing a little curious research on the subject I decided to purchase the LELO Luna Beads Noir as they are smaller and heavier than average, and therefore supposedly more of a challenge.
The Luna Beads were my first LELO product so the famous packaging was highly anticipated and it did not disappoint. The trademark thick black cardboard box was every bit as sleek and sexy as I imagined, it just screams ‘luxury product’. Nestled within are the two hard plastic balls in their smooth silicone harness along with a black storage bag, a user manual, a sachet of LELO’s own lube and a little plastic ‘authenticity’ card with information about validating the one year guarantee.
The materials are all top class as you’d expect from a luxury label like LELO. The fact that the balls are black, instead of the pink and blue with the previous incarnation of the Luna Beads and the Luna Minis, greatly appeased my inner (hell, and outer!) goth. If you shake each ball a bit you can feel the inner ball moving around. I have read complaints concerning one of the earlier models that the metal inner balls caused a noticeable rattling sound against the plastic shell – no one wants a percussion instrument in their vagina, right? LELO has rectified this situation in all later models including the Luna Beads Noir – these cannot be heard no matter how much jumping around you do.
Inserting the balls with the aid of a little water based lube is very simple and I experienced absolutely no difficulty keeping them in. To remove you simply pull the nylon removal string, just obviously make sure you insert the balls the right way up so that the string is hanging outside the body (yes, like a tampon and yes, I did put them in upside down once. Stupid).
The sensations produced are mildly enjoyable but nothing orgasmic, which is not the point of the toy anyway so don’t worry about it. The feeling of the inner ball moving around is supposed to stimulate the vagina to tighten. While walking around wearing them, on noticing the subtle movement you can’t help but give them a squeeze!
When I first got them I was much more religious about wearing them regularly. After a couple of weeks I felt I did have better control over my kegel muscles or at least became much more aware of them. I could already orgasm from intercourse with ease so I can’t say I noticed much of a difference in that respect. I think this sort of toy is wasted on me a bit and would benefit ladies post-birth a lot more.
These days I tend to only wear them in the gym, if only for my own personal amusement at knowing I’m getting a ‘full body workout’!
