- ABS Plastic/Waterproof/Multiple Speeds & Patterns
I’ll start by saying I’m a bit of a LELO Mia 2 fangirl. It is currently my most used clit vibe, I just can’t seem to put the damn thing down! When Lovehoney released the Silencer USB bullet, an own brand product that is quite similar to the Mia 2 in both form and function, I was very intrigued to see how it performs compared to my trusty Mia.
The Silencer USB bullet comes in Lovehoney’s standard clean, tasteful packaging. The box is a little flimsy so not really suitable for long-term storage but while it’s no where near the standard of LELO’s packaging, in my opinion, it would still be perfectly acceptable to present as a gift. The Silencer is currently available in a pink and purple colour way. It’s quite girly and it’s cute enough but it’s not to my personal taste – I much prefer the glossy black of my Mia 2.
Charging the toy is extremely easy – just plug it into a USB port on a computer or a USB mains adaptor. Mine was completely dead straight out of the box but it only took about half an hour to be fully charged which is pretty quick.
The Silencer bullet is pretty simple to operate using the two buttons. As you’d expect, the ‘+’ turns it on and increases the strength of vibrations and the ‘-‘ decreases the intensity and turns the toy off. Holding down both buttons at the same time for a few seconds turns the travel lock on and off. This makes the Silencer a great toy for taking out and about without having to worry about it buzzing to life in your handbag. It also has a few pattern settings that are awkward to find as mine came with no instructions. I don’t care much for patterns on a clit vibe anyway so this doesn’t bother me much. The constant vibration setting has (I think) six different levels of intensity.
Initially I was really impressed by the Silencer bullet, I really thought it was going to be my back up Mia 2. Its first setting is definitely stronger than the first setting on the Mia. The vibrations themselves are also a little rumblier than the Mia’s which surprised me (in a good way). It is also extremely quiet and discreet. When the Silencer is freshly charged, on top speed, it gives the Mia 2 a run for its money but… it’s still not quite as intense and I can’t *always* get off from it.
I don’t know if my toy possibly faulty but I find the Silencer gets ‘lazy’ if I don’t keep it fully charged. After every use it seems to get noticeably weaker and weaker until I charge it up again – I haven’t encountered this problem as badly with a rechargeable toy before. After I’ve used it twice, three times max, then I have to remember to charge it or I can’t guarantee an orgasm the next time and will usually have to finish of with my Mia or Tango.
Aside from this issue (which may be a fault anyway), it is overall a pretty decent vibe. Its vibrations are of a moderate level which suits me and are rumblier those of your average budget vibe, it just lacks the tiny bit of extra power and ‘tingle’ of the Mia 2 that I prefer. Had I not been spoiled with luxury vibrators for the last few years, the Silencer USB bullet could have been a favourite.
