The Rock Chick has been around ever since I first took an interest in buying sex toys at age 18. I didn’t really understand it then and to be honest… I still don’t. Like other ‘hands free’ stimulators, the Rock Chick is a great idea in theory but in practice… n’yerrr. Sadly it just doesn’t do it for me.
As is standard with Rocks Off products, the Rock Chick comes tastefully packaged and the toy itself is made out of 100% body safe materials. As I’ve come to expect from this brand, the build quality is excellent and I really can’t complain about how it looks. The toy itself is comprised of a fairly large silicone body with a removable RO-80mm bullet which has seven settings. It is available in red, fuchsia and purple.
My first concern when I unboxed the toy was how flexible the silicone is. I thought (especially for the price) that this was gonna be one solid, kinda heavy hunk of silicone, a bit like my Fun Factory ShareVibe. Instead, the Rock Chick seems to be hollow nearly all the way around. To confirm this I gave the shaft a squeeze and could clearly hear the the ‘sides’ meeting and sticking slightly. The silicone is quite thick though, so it’s not ridiculously bendy, just a bit more than I had imagined. Aside from its bendiness, the silicone is beautiful quality. It is of the buttery soft variety and barely attracts any fuzz from its surrounding area. There is an obvious seam which I can feel very clearly with a finger but don’t notice when using the toy.
The Rock Chick is designed to be a dual stimulator that can be operated ‘hands free’ by inserting it then sitting and rocking back and forth. The movement is intended to cause the curved tip to stroke the G-spot while the ridged end where the bullet fits should both vibrate and rub the clitoris. Sounds great, huh?
Now, over my 5 years of using toys I’ve nearly always had really good luck with dual stimulators/rabbit vibes. I seem to have the ‘right’ anatomy as 90% of the time the toy fits and hits both its intended targets. The Rock Chick is in the unfortunate 10% that just don’t work for me.
For a start, I know I have quite a shallow G-spot. Measuring by a finger, it’s only two knuckles deep. As the insertable portion of the Rock Chick is about four inches long, it is twice as long as I need it to be to get some direct stimulation going. As for the ridged clitoral section… it just doesn’t really do a lot for me. It does (sort of) line up with my clit, but the section doesn’t lie flat against my body as would be ideal to make full use of the vibrations. Instead it comes in at a strange angle so that just the ‘top’ area of the silicone (where the bullet protrudes from) meets my skin but the rest of the ridged area doesn’t unless I apply pressure with a hand, which is a bit beside the point of a ‘hands free’ toy. Hmm.
While experimenting with the Rock Chick I found two positions that well, kind of work. Firstly I tried just sitting down normally in a regular chair with the toy inserted and the included bullet switched on, squeezing my legs together and then tilting my pelvis rhythmically. This did produce some vaguely pleasurable sensations. Having my thighs squeezed together applied a bit of pressure to my clit and I could feel something going on inside while I rocked back and forth. It certainly wasn’t unpleasant, but there’s no way in hell I could reach orgasm from this.
The second position I found okay was using it good old fashioned ‘pillow humping’ style. I put the toy in and mounted a pile of pillows (ah, the nostalgia!) and humped away. While I could certainly work up a sweat this way and actually found it quite fun, again I couldn’t for the life of me squeeze out an orgasm.
Now a sweating, panting mess, I decided I had to cheat and whipped out my trusty We-Vibe Tango. The bullet included with the Rock Chick is the seven speed version of the RO-80mm which is a decent enough for what it is, but at the end of the day it is only just powerful enough to get me off by itself and when stuck in a big ol’ hunk of silicone, its buzzy vibrations are dampened just a bit too much. To me they still feel nice as I don’t always mind the ticklishness of buzzy vibrations, but strong and rumbly vibes are always gonna be my preference.
So in went the Tango and back I went to vigorously humping away but still… no dice. The Tango’s vibrations greatly improve the Rock Chick as the vibrations are strong enough to transmit all the way to the G-spotting tip which makes the internal part feel a bit more interesting. Unfortunately, as a clitoral orgasm was and usually is my aim, I was left disappointed and exhausted with a lubey, fluid soaked pillow.
Even with the boost from the Tango and several long, arduous attempts I just can’t come with this toy. It’s a complete clit tease and even turned my favourite vibrator against me. We just aren’t meant to be.
I always find it hard to recommend dual stimulators as female anatomy varies so much and I KNOW I get lucky more than most. I’m reluctant to recommend the Rock Chick as for me it failed so badly, however – this toy has been around as long as I can remember, the design hasn’t changed much (to my knowledge) and is still flying off the shelves today so it must be rocking someone’s world!
