- VixSkin dual density silicone/Insertable Length: 6 1/2 inches Max. Circumference: 6 inches O-ring Diameter: 2 inches
Like a lot of people, I used to be totally squicked out by “realistic” style dildos. To me there was nothing more off putting than a toy that looked like it had fallen off some poor sod’s groin. All those sickly “flesh” colours were, for me, the ultimate turn off. That, coupled with the fact that the vast majority (sadly) of “real feel” toys out there are made out of disgusting, sweet chemical-smelling, highly porous materials, I just ruled dick-like dicks off my list of things to ever try.
Then I heard about VixSkin. A 100% body safe, totally sterilisable, dual density silicone material that reviewers around the globe positively worship and adore. I needed some. Then I took a look at the price… yeeesh! No WAY is a DILDO worth THAT much. Just no way. I consoled myself again, trying to convince myself that Vixen’s super in-your-face phallic designs were too ugly for my tastes and that I didn’t need this material in my life after all. Oh god, I was wrong. So, so wrong.
Then one day, a follower tweeted that Lovehoney were discontinuing a number of their Vixen cocks and had slashed their prices by 50% (or thereabouts). It’s not every day you see something like that, so like the sexual silicone predator I am, I pounced and decided to welcome Buck into my life. I have made some pretty great decisions in my life, and this is definitely pretty high up there.
Like all Vixen’s products, Buck arrived in a large, see-through, vacuum sealed tube, which given the extremely soft nature of VixSkin is the perfect storage solution as these dildos need to be stored upright to maintain their shape. Getting the lid off these tubes can be a bit of a faff, especially if you’re as excited as I was to get at the squishy goodness within, but once you’ve got the technique down it’s no problem.
Handling Buck for the first time was… an experience. VixSkin is soooo squishy and tactile, it’s hard to put down. The head is made entirely of super squishy silicone whereas the shaft has a firm inner core, which is what keeps the toy standing upright, with a squishy layer over the top which gives the dildo an uncannily realistic feel. My Buck is in Vanilla which the palest shade available. I think it looks a little too anaemic to be realistic which doesn’t bother me particularly, though it does come in two darker shades if you prefer: Caramel and Chocolate.
By my toy standards, Buck is a large dildo. It measures a little under seven inches in length and has a maximum girth, around the big mushroomy head and the shaft towards the base, of six inches. It’s chunky, but I find it extremely manageable. Apart from the oversized head, its dimensions are actually eerily similar to my partner’s penis, earning among us the title of “Stunt Cock”.
Despite it’s formidable dimensions, due to the squishy softness of the silicone I find I can usually manage to insert Buck from an nearly cold start though I don’t really recommend doing this – I just often get carried away and just want the damn thing inside me as soon as possible! If I warm up a little with a smaller insertable and a bit of clitoral stimulation then it feels so much better, maybe one day I’ll learn! If I’m not quite ready and I go forcing it in then the coronal ridge produces an uncomfortable popping sensation as it slips past my pubic bone. Once I am aroused enough then I actually really enjoy that popping feeling and can really go to town thrusting the toy in and out.
As the toy is so thick and filling and also just the right length for me, when thrust I find it stimulates every last corner of my vagina (much the same way as my partner’s cock does). Though I usually prefer a firmer toy when G-spotting, Buck’s huge head can still work wonders for me. The combination of VixSkin being quite grippy (I prefer to use a thicker water based lube with this material) and how prominent that aforementioned coronal ridge is, when angled correctly it rubs my G-spot just right. If I’m in the mood really go for it then I can eventually achieve sheet soaking vaginal orgasms with no additional stimulation elsewhere. If I’m feeling lazy, Buck is also hugely satisfying to just insert and clench around while I use a clit vibe.
I’m really glad I chose Buck as my first piece of VixSkin. Of all the other toys that were on sale that day, the other two I considered were Tex, which I now think would have been a little average and possibly underwhelming, or Maverick, which is a similar size to Buck only shaped a bit more severely (Buck’s curves are more gradual) so might have been too much of a challenge for me first go.
Also I love this material so much. It is easily the most realistic feeling I’ve ever felt – especially if you go to the effort to heat it up by submerging in warm water first. The only real drawbacks are that it requires a substantial amount of lube and it attracts hair and dust like nothing else so needs cleaning before and after use, but that’s not much different to any of my other silicone dildos really.
In case I hadn’t made it clear, I love this dildo. Once I’m ready for it, it feels perfect. If you like girth, you need a Buck or Maverick in your life. Aaaand if you don’t, there are plenty of other VixSkin cocks to choose from that should suit you. Don’t get me wrong, VixSkin is an expensive habit but I honestly believe that it’s worth it – so much so I paid full price for my next piece, my beautiful Tie-Bright Mustang… Review coming soon!
